The Interior Design Trends That Are Going Away

They can be updated on the most popular interior design trends for this year, but do you know what just came out? There might be outdated decor hanging around your home now. Here are a few of them that you might miss.

1. Cool Colors

While Minimalism was just beginning to become popular, the owners adopted fresh neutral colors like white and gray. However, they are on the way to this year 2020, as people adopt warmer tones that give the space a more personal feel. Dig out the boring gray and try richer colors like terracotta or spring sapphire.

2. An Accent Color

Interior designers advise you to add an accent color to add visual interest to your room. This year, however, it is important not to focus only on one color, otherwise your space will look too muddy. Instead, combine several shades that fit together well to make the room more homogeneous.

3. All industrial style

The industrial style of home decor is great, but it is on the way to this decade that we embrace a Vintage, retro style. It is no longer fashionable to make your house look like an old factory. Yes, it had its Charm, but too industrial style is not the Look. You can still integrate into your home, but you want to make it subtle, such as with matte black finishes or a brick
Accent wall.

4. Synthetic Materials

Furniture made of synthetic materials could be lowest, but they certainly should not be your first Option. This year, a more sustainable life is encouraged, so try to opt for furniture made from natural organic materials. Natural materials can be good for your home because they are less toxic and more durable, which means they will stay in your home longer.

5. Counterfeit Plants

As with synthetic furniture, fake plants are no longer present this year. It is easier to grow a real plant, now that we have all the resources online, there is NO excuse not to keep a real one in your home. Look for indoor plant species that are easy to care for. You might be surprised that there are many that require little maintenance, some that even require watering once a month!

6. Open Shelves

The open shelves in the kitchen were embraced once because they did a great job so you could see everything you had in your kitchen. The problem is that they are quite impractical, especially if you cook a lot. We won’t see much of this trend in 2020, but you can still have it at home. Just do not place it near the area where you are cooking to avoid splashes and stains. You can still have shelves, but just enough to display your favorite China.

7. Traditional Dining Table

A traditional dining table is still a necessity in every home, but according to interior designers, this trend will continue this year 2020. Instead, the dining room consists of coffee tables and upholstered chairs, making the dining experience more comfortable. Kind of like hanging out with your friends.

8. Granite Countertops

Granite in the kitchen will soon see its release in this decade, as it will become a fairly predictable choice. It is not as durable. They do not want this in a space where there is a lot of pedestrian traffic. This year, Granite will be replaced by more durable and easier to maintain materials, such as quartz or marble. The best Part? You can get a Fake version of these materials. This means less upfront investment on your part if you decide to replace your Granite countertops.
